Your first visit will begin with a thorough history, so that your chiropractor can understand your current condition, and also get a picture of your overall health. Afterwards, your chiropractor will perform a physical examination to come to a diagnosis.

After coming to a diagnosis, your chiropractor will discuss a course of treatment specific to your condition, and then proceed to treatment and answer any questions you may have. Your chiropractor will discuss any treatment options with you so that you can collaboratively decide together on the best course of action for you. Treatment may include mobilization exercises for your joints, soft tissue therapy, and other therapeutic exercises.

In most cases, no!

Chiropractors are direct access practitioners and do not need a doctor’s referral to begin treatments. In some cases, some insurance companies and/or plans may require you to provide a doctor’s referral in order to get the services paid for by your insurance.

Please contact your extended health insurance company to see if a doctors referral is required to access your funding.

An adjustment is a precise procedure, usually applied by your hand or the joints in your body. Adjustments improve mobility, restore range of motion, and increase movement of the adjoining muscles to relieve pressure and tension.

Chiropractic adjustment techniques have been researched extensively. Complications are rare and side-effects, such as temporary soreness, are usually minor. Your Chiropractor will determine if a referral to another health care provider is required.

Your chiropractor will discuss a schedule for your treatment plan, which depends on your specific circumstances. For some people, chiropractic treatment is like a regular tune-up which helps deal with the regular wear and tear of life.
